The characters themselves are interesting initially but they remain static. I am not a fan of this author, I believe the problem is from the author being unable to develop characters and have a true plot. It is sort of a non-ending, but you can't really have expected anything else if you've read any of it. I do not believe the writer is good enough to actually do their creations justice, which is extremely unfortunate. The characters stand out in the Isekai Quartet shorts as well, where they can play off other characters with a different setting to freshen things up. Although you're probably better off watching the anime instead. If you just go in knowing that and are willing to drop it without a resolution, it can be a great. This is one of those things where it would have been better to end it early and leave the reader wanting more, rather than just milking it out until it stops making any money. It's going to be 5 stars until you get bored of the same gags being repeated every time. Great concept and funny characters, but the problem is that there is very little character progression or story progression.

Don't expect story heavy elements and just follow the antics of the main characters. It's better to read this light heartedly, perhaps that is why it is categorized as light novel comedy. It's a story about a lazy, indecisive self aware neet, with crazy good luck (attached with a crazy bad luck), creative enough to overcome adversities thrown at him either through said luck or some modern knowledge and a bit of skill (trickery) because he failed to get a cheat and instead a useless (not really) goddess of party tricks (water/holy/resurrection), and his interaction with her and the residents of that other world with enough characterization they are probably going to be another cliché or overused by future authors. Well, this isn't your fantasy self insert make yourself feel cool novel. Of course, such a daily life cycle wouldn't fit on some readers as they are probably expecting something else. Honestly, it's the type of novel you'd just want to continue on (forever) because of how lovable the characters are and their. This has great and memorable characters, good comedy, action, romance and some bits of drama the author manage to pull out at crucial areas, keeping the excitement at the right moments. They are probably expecting something else from this novel (maybe they think they know a better protagonist). Just don't bother listening to the vocal minority.
